Harmful Algae Bloom research at the Mexican Coast
FOPREDEN is a international project founded by the Mexican environmental agency. Main objectives of are to understand the regularly occurring harmful algal blooms at the coast of Yucatan, Mexico. Scientific teams are working on gathering ground truth data, designing measurement networks and spatial modelling predictions. EOMAP is involved as the only commercial company within FOPREDEN, and conducts satellite based analysis and furthermore develops an automated detection method for harmful algal blooms.
