AMSA/NZMSS 2020, Sydney/Australia

The creation of a sustainable future for our marine ecosystems requires a holistic approach with new and innovative strategies in both research and management. Australian Marine Sciences Association (AMSA) and New Zealand Marine Sciences Society (NZMSS) are proud to be at the forefront of marine science research both in Australia and New Zealand. Our conferences are an important platform for showcasing research, and essential in building collaborations and widening networks between marine scientists. This joint conference provides us with a unique opportunity to build and foster networks across the Tasman. All marine science professionals, academics, researchers and students are invited to join us at Macquarie University from 5 – 9 July 2020. Macquarie University provides a novel and exciting space that will host keynote speakers, plenary sessions, workshops, panel sessions, varied symposia, exhibitions and an all-inclusive social program.

Water Days '22 SDB Day and EO Technology Conference Water is our source of life. Just like aquatic environments, the field of earth observation (EO) is very dynamic. More and new satellite sensors, more data, new software tools, more user needs, ...- It's high time to meet and catch up with all the developments in the field of aquatic EO. The Water Days – an international conference – will focus on key innovations and applications of satellite-derived information across the globe. The 3-days-conference will include the 4th SDB Day, a renowned technology and user forum on Satellite-Derived Bathymetry (SDB). Both the number and quality of satellite sensors keep increasing dramatically. This results in „Big Data“ and calls for smart processing technology in order to turn the data into actionable information. During the Water Days, we shall discuss key issues on capabilities, quality standards and data integration for aquatic earth observation. The conference will include keynotes, technical presentations, panels and workshops. In addition, you will have the opportunity to meet and exchange with international experts on an informal level during lunch and coffee breaks as well as at the evening event on October, 4th. ASIA 2023 – Water Resources and Renewable Energy

Kuala Lumpur , Malaysia

In the framework of this major get together of hydropower stakeholders in Asia, we are honoured to contribute by a presentation. The talk by our water quality team will focus on satellite-derived information for sustainable hydropower planning and management. The HYPOS eoApp - a smart tool to keep an eye on water quality parameters, such as turbidity, algae blooms, chlorophyll a or surface water temperature - can strongly support knowledge-based decision making in hydropower business. In particular, the eoApp is designed for applications, such as: knowledge-based design of hydropower plants near-real time monitoring environmental impact assessments In this respect, you might also like to click to Reuters' amazing visual story-telling on the sediment traps in the Mekong River.

Planet Partner Meeting / User Day

Washington

On occasion of Planet's User Day "Explore" 2023, EOMAP will take part both in the partnering event as well as in the conference. We fully support the User Day's Motto: From Transparency to Action". This is our day-to-day business: Providing the best out of satellite data for knowledge-based decision making. Meet us in Washington D.C. and learn what's new in remote sensing of aquatic environments! Here is one of the use cases where we've leveraged Planet data for hydropower planning - and in particular - sediment management. Another interesting case is the investigation of the huge fish kill in the Oder River in Poland and Germany. Read more about innovative river monitoring in this press release of August, 2022.
